Vanquis App - Notifications Blocked? Android

Hello,

Both wife and I recently got a Vanquis credit card, but we are not receiving any notifications of statements, or any push notifications of transactions.

I have looked in app settings and the notification toggle is greyed out to blocked, thus cannot be changed to allow.

I´m having to set a calendar reminder to when statements are produced so we don´t accidentally miss a payment.

Just wanted to ask if everyone else has the same issue, and it´s not just us.

Thanks

Android has settings to control notification permissions for each app.  It sounds you have this switched off for Vanquis

I'm not sure Vanquis offer app push notifications. I see nowhere in the app to enable them, and in Android settings they are set to off and cannot be 'turned on'.

I do get SMS messages both for statement availability and payment reminder from Vanquis.

Set up payment by direct debit to take the balance in full every month, much safer than risking missing a payment because you missed a notification or were somehow incapacitated / phone was lost

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Yeah it´s in those settings where it is greyed out.
From other replies, it´s now obvious Vanquis don´t offer notifications from their app

Ah, so you have the same - must be something they don´t offer then.

We don´t get sms, emails, or anything from them..... will have look at their website to see if we can activate something, as again, can´t see anything in the app.

    Thanks

An update on this - logged in to the app this morning and got a message asking to allow notifications, wife got the same message too on hers. So think we will now get transaction / statement notifications

Thanks for that, the same for me. Will be interesting to see what notifications are sent.
