Morning all, we have sun and clouds fighting for domination here. Yesterday I pottered about and got some long awaited small tasks done, you know those "oh I'll do that tomorrow" ones. Kept me out of mischief I suppose.
Today the wm is on with a load of clothes, there's another one waiting on the kitchen floor ready for a turn in the wm too. I'll hang them all out and hope they dry as it's only going to get to the giddy heights of 15 degrees !
We are watching the D. Day 80 programmes too as Mr Fix It's father was part of it. He was another who never spoke of war only to say his job was to lay communication cables under the sea. Sadly he passed away when he was in his 50's with a heart attack and Mr Fix It was only 19.
Scarlet hope the dentist goes ok and there is nothing to worry about.
Have a good day all, hugs to the poorly ones.
Take care all

Hi all
Its been an age since I posted. Just back from a D day80 flag raising at the local Primary school. Very moving for lots of reasons as you might guess. My Dad was on D+2 as a RAF person seconded to the RCAF. Building airstrips for the reconnaisance unit he was attached to. Feel its important to mark these occasions with the younger generation.
Hugs and spoons as always

Morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x
I finally got into bed at 1.15am having picked DDad up from the airport. Was up again at 6.15am for work (and had already done 1400 steps!!). His flight was delayed plus he mislaid his hand luggage….and breathe… He will be watching the D-day programmes today so hopefully won’t be under DH’s feet too much.
Your friend could definitely do with the break @TravellingAbuela – agree about MH being bottom of the pile, which makes me very sad.
Glad you had an okay-ish day @silver-oldie. Be kind to yourself, you’re doing so well xxx
Annoying about C&Cs builder @snoozer. I’m sure they are glad that you and Steve are able to help with reno work and also caring for Nate. I am looking forward to being a grandparent one day, fingers-crossed!
Hope MrRuby feels better soon @RedRuby1231 x
Have a good day everyone,
Coxy

Hi everyone,
Nate day but he is napping so I just wanted to reassure taff that she didn't offend me in the slightest - I have been having a flare up of my mystery illness which makes me tired and achy so I've probably been moaning a bit much. I feel quite a bit better this week thankfully.
Coxy, it's the best thing ever. I would never have said anything if they had decided not to have children but I'm very glad they did. Sometimes I wish they'd not left it quite so long, I'd probably have found it easier ten years ago.
Topsy, I'm so pleased ds seems to be making progress at last and good luck with the house.
Have a good day.11 -
Thank you for your lovely messages, it means a lot.
having a day of rest today apart from essential jobs. Been to a friend’s for lunch today. I have a date tonight with the same guy I met earlier this year either out for a meal or the pictures not sure which yet.Glad your DM is improving Rosy.
DP1 - your granddaughter is so sweet.
Snoozer - glad you’re feeling better.
TA - glad your friend is getting a break.
Taff - please slow down you put me to shane
Rosy - taking of watches I bought a pocket watch for ds2 from the charity shop for £8, for his birthday as he always wanted one when he was little. I googled it and it’s a silver ET21 by Rapport which you can see all the inside workings of the watch which would have cost me £185 new - so really pleased9
