Good morning, another fine start here. Yesterday wasn't bad at all, there was a strong chilly wind blowing though, and at one point it clouded over and there was a hailstone shower!
I'm starting the day with a visit to the dentist at 9am for a routine inspection. I'm going to ask him to look at a little soft swelling in my mouth, I found it a couple of weeks ago, but I knew I had this appt, so didn't do anything about it then.
An old friend rang yesterday to see if we wanted to visit this afternoon to see her great grandson who'll be there with his parents, we will go of course, she's so proud of him.
TA, it's good that you were a sympathetic listener for your bff, she'll probably feel better for having talked about it.
Belated happy birthday wishes Silver Oldie, hope you are ok.
Hope everyone has a good day, thinking of the sad and/ or poorly people.
Take care folks.

Morning All
Bright this morning but quite chilly, yesterday was a mix of sunshine and sideways rain!
Get well soon Floss.
You're a good friend TA, hope your BF get something sorted out soon as it sounds like she needs some help. How lovely of your neighbour to cut the hedge for you.
Pleased to hear your DS is beginning to get back on his feet topsy and your house move goes smoothly.
Hugs to you Coxy.
Hope your DM is feeling better Ruby.
Can't believe it's Thursday already, not sure where the week has gone. Take care. XX

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. The forecast for today is similar to yesterday - sunny intervals, moderate breeze and not very warm. Bah!
COXY - yes DF has children but sadly not nearby. Her DS is in Australia and her DD a good 2 hour drive away near the east coast. Obviously they are worried about the situation which seems now to be escalating. She tried getting a GP appointment but the best she could get was a telephone appointment next Wednesday. The usual fob off and waste of time. MH is still bottom of the pile when it comes to help. Meanwhile her DD is coming over today to take her and her little doggie back to her house for a few days of peace and quiet and give her some thinking time.
I finally took my little bus ride along the valley yesterday. It was a chilly day so not much lingering was done. I had a browse of the cs but nothing caught my eye. The only spending done was a few bits in Home B. My phone was beeping the whole time with photos from DF of their time in Blackpool. The lads (now nearly 50!!) looked to be enjoying the attractions in the Pleasure Beach and South Pier. I wasn't envious, been there and done that too many times in the past!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better or fed up. Take care all, stay safe xx

Morning all
Looks to be a nice day again but yesterday was either very warm and then very cold ! It was a strange day !
Off to collect Rob today and take him to work in the cafe so a nice morning doing some baking ahead which he loves.
OH is up and in the shower still got an upset tummy so no work today I started to feel really sick yesterday and spent most of the day feeling poorly so I have put it down to the meatballs we had the night before they were cooked thoroughly so must have just been a bad batch, so I did not cook the chicken last night so we will have that tonight instead.
DD took mum to the Dr yesterday for her ecg her heart rate had gone up to 46 from 38 so it’s going in the right direction she has another appointment Monday so hopefully it will be back to normal by then.
TA your poor friend I hope she has a good break away xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Good morning all
Thank you for the start Scarletribbons
Thank you for the birthday wishes. It was another first. First birthday without my lovely DH and the first birthday I've spent alone. I was thinking of going out for coffee but somehow couldn't face sitting alone. So I told myself ' it's just another day '
Yesterday the weather was good so I cut the lawn. Must try and do a few more jobs in the garden today.
Take care

Morning all - thanks for the start @Scarlet.Lovely to see you @NRA and such good news about your DS, it's been a long recovery for him.Today is decidedly chilly with no hope of any heat later. I've pulled out my woolly jacket to wear. Yesterday my near-relatives from Oz managed to make it down to Oban so we met up in Tesco's cafe. I chose that as the town centre is heaving with visitors and parking is almost impossible there. We had a lovely hour chatting away before they had to head off again. After the weekend they are doing a three week coach tour of Europe! Rather them than me but they are cramming a lot into that time.On the way home I visited a couple of friends for another brief though lively chat, by then it was almost 4.00p.m. and time to be in my own place. My late and beloved father was involved in the D-day campaign, he was in the RE's and landed on D+6. He never talked about his time there although he was in many ways affected by it. He wasn't a young lad, as so many were, he was a regular soldier aged 39 years but the horror never left him.Now I must do a little light shopping, something I should have done yesterday but CBA. Serves me right.I wish everyone an enjoyable day.12

Morning all, thanks Scarlet.Hailstones pelting on the window woke me again at 6 this morning, now it's sunny! Such weird weather atm. I managed a walk round the park yesterday, then DH came home. We didn't need to go for DGS so we went in town to a watch repairers - DH 'won' a watch on the bay of E but it wasn't working. He sent a message to the seller who said he would pay for a new battery. The repairer couldn't get the back off, and that he's seen before that some just have the backs put on too tight during production. Shame, but it's been sent back now. DH likes to collect watches so I'm sure he'll be on the lookout again. We went into our usual cafe, he had a bagel with avocado and mozzarella so didn't want any tea.The pie was saved for today!Gers ,just reading about the Ozzies tour schedule makes me feel tired
I watched all the news about D-Day, some very moving scenes.
NRA, pleased to see there is progress for your DS, what a long recovery for him. Good to know you can now secure your own future after your divorce - good luck!S-O, I'm sure yesterday was a hard one for you, hugs.RR sorry you've been poorly, hope your tums are recovering.TA, glad to hear your friend will have a few days respite.((Hugs Coxy ))Taff- , all this talk of kitchens and drawers made me look at ours again to see if there was any way we could fit in a pull out larder shelving unit. There isn't ! So I had a little re-arrange of the worktop with the appliances like kettle ,toaster, ninja on insteadOff to make a coffee, take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning everyone
I wasn't working yesterday - I went down to mam and dads for a cuppa and did some shopping, and later picked little one up from school. She was very excited as her reception class had been for their first 'school' swimming lesson so I heard all about it, down to the colour and pattern of everyones swimming costume!
When DD was bringing me back home we had quite a spectacular shower of hailstones - we just sat in the car and watched - little one was amazed at the size of them.
Little kitten will come home with me later to stay, then little one from after school tomorrow. DD will take her to school then is going to Tenerife for 5 days. On Saturday I am taking little one to Lilidorei at Alnwick - she's looking forward to it as she's never been. I'm hoping the weather stays fine as it's all outside.
Right I'd best get on as I have a little list of jobs to do. The washing is out, I might bring it back in before I go to work as we're forecast showers later, and put it on the airer to finish off.
Hope you all have a good day x

Morning..not sunny but not raining but also cold...Yesterday was so weird, warm warm warm until three or four, then cold cold cold. I ended up wearing my massive floor length fuzzy hoody just to get warm. Today I have prescritpion to collect, something to take out of the freezers for tonight [it was a chicken curry and a chicken and chorizo last night, possibly cottage pie with parsnip mash on top tonight - I am emptying the freezers as best I can] , check the metal detector is working [we're off ot the beach with it Saturday, to join OHs mum and stepdad for a day], and go and buy some onions...I can't believe I've run out of them...Normally there's at least six hagning round..[I use them in practically everything I cook]. This means it's big shop ish time though, we need bleach, washing stuff, teeth stuff etc. Might squeeze in a GC visit. Found my vouchersSO, it was bound to be a difficult day, you did well. Gers, glad you had chance for a catch up. Rosy, I like it, is the end result more pleasing now?
Ruby, hope the sicknes passes quickly. Scarlet, fingers crossed for the dentist. TA, hope she can make or get some improvements to whatever she's going through soon.Take care all.....
