Can't cancel my contract but all I will be paying is standing charge

    They can do this because the contract logic flow would be
    > standing charge is payable as long as you have the meter in place
    > termination cost of £x00 to remove the meter when you terminate and cease supply
    > this is avoided if someone else takes over the supply so there's no need to physically remove
    > in practice, its usually cheaper to pay £x0 for the time until someone does take over rather than paying the £x00 to remove. 

    Its up to you, but because most people choose the last line, that's what the agent jumped to.
