Ebay. New user name

Options
I want to change my Ebay user name, which I can do without difficulty.
But I can find no information about how it will affect my 100% sellers rating.
Any advice please?
Meg.

  • It won't affect your seller rating at all, eBay mention somewhere that changing your name may make it harder for a buyer to find you but it won't.

It won't, your UserID will be some static value and its what will be used in database etc to tie feedback, sales, purchases etc to you. Username will be a different field just held in the user table and changing it maintains the UserID

I don't think it makes it any harder for buyers to find you.
I have had items saved in both my basket and watch list that remain there after the seller has changed user name.
Plus at least 2 sellers I use regularly and searching for them by the old user name still brings up all the listings under the new user name.

It may be that there is a limit of how long "redirection" works for?

Or, possibly of greater concern,  how long they hold the old user name for before they let someone else register with it?
