Electricity use through night query, is this high or normal?

I recently had smart meter installed and I just wanted to check If 77p between 12-9am sounds about normal? Seems high to me for night.

Only things switched on are fridge, router, phone charger and power to combi boiler (heating not switched during summer).

If this is about correct then all good but if high I will have to investigate further.

Could it be the standing charge being 'added on' overnight?

What supply region are you in?  The vast majority of that 77p could be standing charge for the day.

Does it include the standing charge for the day; if so usage is a lot lower?

Mine puts the SC on overnight. I'm in South Wales, too. Which supplier are you with?

You can easily check, as it will show the number of kWh used. Multiply that by your unit rate and see if the difference equals the SC (remember VAT at 5% may not be included on the IHD).

Electric isn't supplied in £s, it comes in kWh, how many of those are you using overnight?

How many kWh was it, and have you looked at the meter before and after 12-9, the display inside is only a guide anyhow?

Don't bother with the IHD. Just make sure that your smart meter is set to submit readings every half hour. This is usually done through your account settings on the supplier website.
Then take a look at your usage throughout the day. It should show how much you used in each 30 minute period in both kWh and £.
