a quick question about renting

Hi,

I am looking at renting a property for about 6 months, I have seen a couple and I know they have been hanging around for a while, what I want to know is!!!! am I cheeky offering less than they are asking, they want 450 and in my mind I'd like to offer 400, surely a tenant paying rent is better than leaving it empty:o , whats the opinion please,

    Try your luck all they can do is say no ?
  • We managed to get £15 knocked off per month on a rental once, not a huge amount, but better than nothing.
  • They will lose £300 over the six months if the accept your offer. This is about 20 days rent at £450 per month. Also, they'll be paying to keep the house empty so, you could be in a strong position if people are not flocking to rent the property. Even moreso if you can move quickly.

    I'd offer £390 (or £90 per week).

    For info, every £3 per week equates to £13 per month.

    Offer £400, let them negotiate you up to £420 max.
