Good morning, another sunny start here, hope it lasts.
It was very windy last night when we went out, quite cold as well.
Belated birthday wishes Nan, hope you enjoyed your day.I
Izzy, I wanted to pay somebody else to decorate for us, but DH says the same as your DH - we can do it ourselves, take it slowly, no need to go at it like we used to and so on! So there you go!
I know ours is taking a while, but there's only us here, no one else to think about . We pack up in the late afternoon as well, in the old days we would have gone on later.
TA, your friend must be on hot bricks a lot of the time if her husband does these irrational things when she's not there to stop him.
Ruby, hope your mum soon feels better.
Dp1, your little dg d is a treasure, she's so funny!
I'm going to visit my elderly friend this morning for an hour, and I'll call at the little Sains on the way home for a loaf. I'm trying to keep out of the big supermarkets unless I have to use them, there's plenty of stuff in the freezer.
Hope everyone has a good day, thoughts to the poorlies.
Take care folks.

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet - slow and steady, you'll get there. I quite like decorating but the ceilings downstairs are a little too high for me so I leave that to the professionals and just do upstairs now.
Hope your DM is feeling better Ruby - is your nephew still there?
Showery this morning and so cold, the wind would cut you in two. It's certainly not flaming June!
The meeting yesterday didn't really tell us more than we already know, lots of folk complaining that their fixed term contracts are not being renewed - that's because they are fixed term to the end of the school year. It's not hard to understand! Anyway the next step is having one to one meetings with the big wigs, seems to me that we are being interviewed for our own jobs. We wait again, can't see it being resolved before the end of term.
Hope you had a lovely birthday Nanny and Mr Fix It is feeling better.
Happy Wednesday, take care. XX15 -

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Well the forecast says we are having light rain just now, but we are not. It's a lovely blue sky and the sun is shining. Long may it last!
I had a long phone chat with DF yesterday, I think she finally needed to offload all her problems and worries and things are far worse than she has been letting on. But it's not for me to repeat them and I am worried about her..
My front hedge hadn't had its first trim this year and was just adding to the neglected look of the front garden. DS has usually kept it under control for me but the house of doom has taken up his every spare minute recently. However it was on the to do list for this w/e. Then last night young chap next door was cutting his bushes/small trees back and came round and offered to do it. I apologised for the state of it (it runs between our two front gardens) and told him about DS and the house problem but it was on the agenda for this w/e but he said it was no problem and made a lovely job of it. Oh to be young and fit again!
My Oz friend is still keeping me up to speed with their travels and the photos are arriving thick and fast. They left Edinburgh and spent another night north of Bamburgh, then yesterday morning set off for Blackpool. Talk about a bracing wind! She sent a little video of one of their DSs battling the gales on the south pier. Her and her DH had left the lads exploring whilst they holed up in a pub. The best place I think.
Well I have got waffling sorry. I may have the bus ride today that I cba making yesterday. I'll see how the weather holds up. Meanwhile have a lovely day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better or fed up. CAMELOT it will be a bit cruel if they leave you all the summer holiday waiting for an update. NAN hope you enjoyed your day and that Mr Fixit soon feels better. Take care all and be safe.xx
ps SO I hope you have a nice birthday and eat lots and lots of cake. xxx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"14 -
Hi everyone,
Nanny, happy birthday for yesterday, sorry I missed it.
SO happy birthday.
It was Esther day yesterday, she was fine until she woke from her nap and then really wanted Laura. Luckily Laura only works till two on a Tuesday so I didn't have long to keep her going.
Life is likely to get busier because Chris and Crystal have parted ways with the builder who was working on their stables so Steve will be helping finish off I'll do what I can but I can't do a lot of physical work, certainly not after looking after toddlers several times a week.
Have a good day.14 -
Morning folks - thanks for starting us off @Scarlet, decorating is my most hated household task so I admire anyone who does it for themselves.Happy Birthday @SO, it'll be a difficult day for you though I hope that you can get some pleasure from it, and cake.🎂@Camelot - the education people are cuttings things a bit fine, my fingers are crossed for you.@AA - happy crafting.@TA - it's great to have such thoughtful neighbours! And yes, we never know what happens behind closed doors, even with close friends. She's lucky to have you to share it with.@Nan - I hope that MrFixit is better today.@DP1 - lovely story about your gorgeous little one.The weather is atrocious today, I have the living room little light on. Yesterday started bad and turned OK but the wind was biting all day. This spell is forecast to last until at least the weekend.Yesterday was a much less 'eating' day. I had a large salad instead, so much eating for not much taste!. Today I have a meeting later on and then my friends from Oz are maybe making it to Oban, or maybe not. I told them that it takes me at least an hour to get there so no point ringing me when they are there - I did tell them that last week. However, the woman and her husband are the parents of my youngest nephew's ex-girlfriend so not close friends, in fact I've only met them once. They hope to get across to Ireland by ferry which is about three hours from here.I hope that everyone is safe and well.13

Morning all
Dry and bright here and looks to be a good day, OH got up for work this morning and has got a tummy upset so that’s him off for the day I just hope I don’t get it.
Off to collect Rob this morning and take him to a plant sale through his work, he loves doing them and the customers can’t refuse his cute little face so he is their best salesman 😃
DD is taking mum for her heart ECG today she still feels rough but it can take over a week for the tablets to leave her system so I’m hoping she starts to feel better soon, Camelot no my nephew has gone now thank goodness as she wouldn’t have the strength to look after him.
Dinner tonight will be a chicken salad with mash, dd is off today so she can put the chicken in later.
I will go shopping later with Rob only need a few bits.
SO have a very Happy Birthday xxx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning all, thanks Scarlet.Silver-Oldie,best Birthday wishes winging their way to you with love & hugs.Camelot, no nearer then : / Do they normally do this? It's currently drizzling & sunny here, & def not flaming June!TA, your Oz friend is certainly getting around the country
Nice of your neighbour to do your hedge. It certainly sounds worrying about your BF situation.
AA hope you get lots of crafting done.Sunshine and showers atm, but bloomin nippy!Had a quiet day yesterday really, quick trip to town to buy some big envelopes for DH evidence for the small claims. His pal checked it all over last night and it's all in order for it to be sent today. I rang our friends, they are having work done and she's fed up with the dust! I mentioned that we are going to the annual mini music festival on Saturday At one time they used to come too when their son would play in a band & we got very friendly with the other band members/ relatives who are also going on Sat. but she won't even think about coming these daysher DH came on his own last year. The only time she goes out is for the weekly shop or doctors. I don't think it helps that their house is quite isolated. Sad really.
I think I'll take one of the pies out I made, turkey, ham and leek, that'll be quick if we pick DGS up. Yesterday Ds picked me up from town as he'd been to the dentist. He stopped at an independent bakers on the way back for a sandwich & got me a chicken salad box, all freshly made. There was so much in I saved half for my tea , reasonable price too!I hope the poorlies are picking up, and anyone for whatever reason under the weather atm.Edited to add - it's hailstoning heavily now !:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
