After trying unsuccessfully to open a Santander business account as a sole trader - will take 2 phone appointments and probably 2 weeks despite being with them for 30 years and have my mortgage with them I have gone with Lloyds which will hopefully work and take 2 days!!! Does anyone know who will open a business account straight away without numerous hoops to jump through??
this is just in case Lloyds takes too long. Ideally need it opened by Friday

Starling or Monzo.
And they don't charge fees0 -
The "hoops" as you call them are legally required anti-fraud measures, commonly known as "Know your Customer", the banks do not have a choice whether they implement those or not. Most will usually allow you to open an account online, but you will need to participate in a video call and show passport, driving licence and potentially other paperwork as well.Aquatic_2 said:After trying unsuccessfully to open a Santander business account as a sole trader - will take 2 phone appointments and probably 2 weeks despite being with them for 30 years and have my mortgage with them I have gone with Lloyds which will hopefully work and take 2 days!!! As far as I know, Wise's business account allows non-resident directors to open an account, does not require a credit check, and has no monthly fee, but it does require a £40 setup fee.0
