Music Magpie (Rental)

Last year I rented a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 from music magpie, everything was going well until April of this year, I checked on my account only to find that no rental payments had been taken since Feb, I contacted Music Magpie to advise them of the rental payments as they had not sent me any text message or email to advise me of missed payments, and I wanted to bring my account up to date.
You can imagine my surprise when the advisor told me that since I applied for Insolvency they cannot deal with my issue and I'd need to speak with my debt management company!
I explained that I have never applied for Insolvency and why was I not informed that any payments were late, again they were less than helpful and told me to speak to Lantern Debt.
I spoke with Lantern and they have no record of me on their files, I've checked my Credit File and there has been no detrimental actions against my name.
I've tried to explain this to Music Magpie but they stick with the same script and refuse to help me.
I don't know what else to do except wait, is there anything else I should be doing?

    Put the money to one side in the meantime each month and wait for them to get their act together

    Check your credit history occasionally and see if there's any clues there.  It may take a couple  of months for you to see any updates. 

    I suspect what has happened is another client of MM has a similar name and there's been a mix up.  I would send MM a letter/email to explain that you believe an error has been made by them and that it is down to them for not taking any payments, not that you are unwilling or unable to pay.  Keep a record of this letter in case anything comes back to bite you.  Also as the OP stated set aside the money so you can pay them when requested.
