you  cannot be suspended for 'asking a question'

Assuming you are being paid, or your contract permits it, you can definitely be suspended for asking a question... or anything else. Therefore questions 1- 6 are irrelevant. You can be suspended for asking a question. Whether you can be dismissed for it is an entirely different matter.
I would love to  see what  question  someone could ask , that wasn't a clumsy attempt to hide threat,  that would give grounds for  Suspending someone ...

as while Suspension is  neutral act ...  it's  widely acknolwedged that Suspension, especially if unjustified, has serious adverse  impact on  people

my questions 1 -6 are entirely  relevant  to determining the situation

Well, I'd say that you can be either suspended or dismissed for any reason at all. Whether it would be fair / legal to do so is the OP's real question, IMO. The next one is whether, if it was not a reasonable decision, it's worth fighting it.

It is not the act of "suspension" that is the issue. An employer can choose to "pay someone to stay at home" for any reason they like. On this occasion the employer has given the reason as having recieved a serious allegation, that the OP accused somebody of theft. It is entirely reasonable to suspend whilst they investigate that allegation. It is not your opinion as to whether you think "a question" warranted suspension or not that is relevant here - it is the employers.

The suspension was, at the point of posting, only three days old - so a reasonable period to investigate had not been exceeded. Being accused of theft also has a serious adverse impact on people. There is no evidence that it was unjustified or excessive.

Your comment was "you cannot be suspended for asking a question" - of course you can, and it does not require a threat to be made or implied. It depends on what the question is and the context. Neither of which we know, and which wasn't the OP's query anyway. It appears that the OP won't be back, and their question wasn't about the suspension or the allegation, which is an interesting lack of concern because most people would be far more exercised about an unjust allegation against them.

Maybe the bickering on the thread has put OP off risking posting anything further?
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!
