Good morning, it's sunny here, yesterday was nice as well.
Glad you got the MRI over with Gers.I
We bought our wallpaper yesterday, and got the wall stripped, what a mess that makes. We have a steam stripper which helps.
I'm tired this morning, and DH has pain in his shoulder, I think we are probably too old for all this climbing up and down ladders. We've always done our own decorating and DH thinks we always will, but I don't know.
We'll probably have a day off today anyway, as there is some filling needed here and there on the wall, where a bit of plaster has come off with the old paper. This is an old house, with old occupants!
Hope everyone has a good day today. Thoughts to Ruby's mum, Mr Florenceem, and others who aren't feeling well.

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, you're doing well with the decorating, wallpaper stripping is the worst job ever!
Lovely sunny day yesterday but wet and breezy this morning - that's summer over then. I put some washing out when I got home which is dry after an overnight airing, I'll put it away when I go up for a shower.
Big meeting for work today, don't think we'll get any answers but will be interesting to hear what's being said. I also don't think we'll hear who is going where before the holidays begin as there's only 3 weeks to go.
Hugs to the poorlies, take care. XX11 -
Thanks Scarlet for the start. Take care and enjoy a day off to mend the aches.Camelot x how the meeting goes ok.I missed yesterday as out before 7am, walked into work about 710 and realised at 1230 that I hadn’t sat down - very achey legs and feet. Anyway escaped at 330 and managed a dog walk and some craft work but must admit I’m tired. Slightly easier later start today.Builder is getting on well with the slabs with the first laid yesterday and he’s made a lovely job of bricking around an outside drain. As for the dust well……🫣🫣. I need to set a reminder for me to open my bedroom window in an evening - keep waking with a headache cos it’s closed against the dust outside during the day,Hope everyone that follows is well

Morning folks - thanks for starting us off @Scarlet. The creeping up of age catches us all.Yesterday I did a bit of walking until the pain set in. It's so frustrating, my response was to eat for most of the day. A very emotional one, thsts how it's always been. 😱 Today will be a better day. Mind you the rain and wind are battering the house like it is mid-winter. I'll be staying indoors today. My friends from Oz are up in the Aberdeen area (loved Balmoral) and are now heading to Nessie hunt, they've had lovely weather thank goodness.I did the weekly banking yesterday so today is the turn of the monthly one. I've had a small win from Premuim Bonds again, it all adds up.@DP1 - l enjoy your end of day posts, hope that you're extended visit from little one and kitten is really enjoyable without a crisis. I remember my lovely cat from my childhood. I 'won' her in a school fair raffle in Hoo, Kent. Loved her for a long time, she lived to be 20 years old.Hugs to our poorlies @WL, and those getting better.12

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. I think we are due a bit of drizzle today but not enough to supply the pots at the back so I think they will need watering at some point.
I am waiting to hear if I am out for lunch with DF or not. It's her OH dependent as usual. I don't know how she copes with his ongoing MH problems which vary day to day. And he is still refusing to see his GP. He has been on the same meds for anxiety and depression for years and obviously they need upping or changing. He has an annual med check but since Covid struck these are now on line and he manages to convince them he is fine! Aaargh!
If lunch is cancelled I might have a bus ride along the valley bottom. I shall be keeping my purse shut as this is going to be an expensive month with one thing and another. But I am not making that a promise!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better or fed up. And chin up those stressed out by house/garden jobs ongoing. Take care all, be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning everyone thanks for the start Scarlet I feel exactly the same about decorating we have all of downstairs to do in a few weeks my hubby always says I remember when I could have a room done in a day now it takes all week i think this might be the last time I am thinking of setting up another pot to pay someone to do it another year but hubby says we will manage a bit at a time.AA hope you have a easier day good luck with the meeting Camelot.we are just waiting for the rain to start GERS I know what you mean about eating I’m the same and I’m coming out in sympathy with you my foot is going mad today then I think well it doesn’t help carrying this weight DP1 I’m another that enjoys hearing about the little ones day and like Gers I had a cat that lived until she was 21 it broke my heart when she passed I’ve never been able to have another one . TAFF I think slowly but surely I’m getting used to retirement I must admit I was so looking forward to it but I’ve found it very difficult even though I’ve still got 4 cleaning jobs and my volunteering at the food waste I feel like I’m hanging about all the time for something to happen I don’t know what it is but I’m finding it difficult. Right I must get a wiggle on thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing11

Morning all
We had heavy rain in the night but it’s stopped now and we are promised some sun later, three people coming today all being well and I think we are going to have a walk on the beach with a picnic and then a cuppa in a cafe, although I am open to suggestions if anyone wants to do something else.
Took mum to the Dr yesterday and her heart rate was very low which they think was making her dizzy / sick so they have stopped one tablet that she was on and she has a heart ecg tomorrow and then back to the dr next Monday I’m hoping they can sort it out they would not give her anything to help her sleep till they sort this heart problem out, thanks for all the good wishes x
Dinner tonight will be meatballs in sauce with pasta I think dd is out for the evening so just OH and I here to eat, the house is tidy just need to hoover.
Camelot I hope all goes well today xxx
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
ning! Bit f a weather change today, dull and dreary, but that's ok, I'm planning indoor stuff today. I moved one empty shoebox yesterday and it does make a diference, the room looks clearer already [hello wishful thinking]. I set my alarm today so I can start back into a routine of doing things which Ihave neglected, like learning Italian. I have some sewing to do, I want to make a lightweight kind of overshirt [ but not, I can't remember what they're called]. I bought the fabric last year at the knitting and stitching show, and I need to make a pattern from another one I have. It's very tea rose looking stuff, not my usual but I have to go to a wedding in September and I was thinking to wear it there.Gers, with you on the comfort eating, sometimes I don't even realise I'm doing it. Congrats on the win too
camelot, fingers crossed the meeting goes well! Scarlet, I used ot think like that too, a holdover from always doing things myself, but now, believe me, if I had the money I'd get someone else to do it in a heartbeat. I've seen how fast a professional painter can do it compared to me. Which means less dust, mess, disruption. TA, while I do sympathise with mental health issues, there comes a point where you have to stop enabling someone. Pandering to him just reinforces him not having to take any responsibility for himself. But good luck to her. Izzy, maybe it's because you haven't really retired with your cleaning jobs and volunteering
and you are the master of your own destiny, and can stop and smell the flowers any time you like
Ruby, fingers crossed it's just the tablet. dp1, I did laugh at put your hat back on!
Nanny, happy birthday! Take care today all...wrap up warm?

Morning all, and a very Happy Birthday to Nan - hope you have a lovely dayIt has been drizzling here, got quite wet walking the pooch. I also seem to have been attacked by midges when I was planting up the pots the other day, itchy spots aargh!More paperwork last night, mainly printing out stuff, but we needed 3 copies of everything so it took a while. DH is popping round to his solicitor friend tonight so he can have a final check over it all before they get posted off to the small claims court. Thanks for mentioning counter claims Floss & Nan we certainly feel like doing it- just don't need more hassle atm.Ruby, hope your DM gets sorted so she can feel better.Taff don't wear yourself out sorting before the builders start will you ! , and no I don't really think DGS other grandma is feeling left out
.She has quite a few GC , it's just that at weekends DGS is usually playing football etc. so isn't often there when they call so it was a good opportunity yesterday when she was minding his little half siblings. I don't mind really, I see him nearly everyday
Not much left of the chicken I cooked yesterday, just a leg and some bits. I can eat that for my lunch.I still have some sausages from the butchers that I didn't freeze so that's the easiest optionI'm another one aching a bit, I think it's from when we tried to push a lady's car out of the mud on Sunday at DGD football tournament - blooming old age! Hope the poorlies/ aching feel better soon. Take care all .
