What jobs earn £100k a year?

Hello all!

I want to bring in £100k a year. What jobs bring this in?

If you do earn this already (through employment and other means) would you be so kind as to tell us what you do/how you earn this?

Thanks for your assistance.

    Lets narrow it down,

    1. When do you wish to achieve £100K by ?
    2. What qualifications do you currently have ?
    3. How old are you ?
    4. What Experience do you have ?
    5. Do you have savings / large cash reserves.

£100k before or after tax, pension etc.,.

    GP (experienced) https://nationalcareers.service.gov.uk/job-profiles/gp
    Head Teachers https://nationalcareers.service.gov.uk/job-profiles/headteacher
    Judge https://nationalcareers.service.gov.uk/job-profiles/judge

I'll let you wade through all the others on that site ;)

PS I reckon some of those are a bit pessimistic.  Plumbers in the SE probably earn far more than that site suggests.

I want to bring in £100k a year.
Wouldn't we all (well all those earning or did earn when they were working less than £100K pa)?

You could train to be a doctor, GP's top salary in England is £104K, but it does take a few years to get there..

Senior barrister's salary can be up to £200K, so perhaps sign up for a law degree.

Some very senior local government posts attract salaries in excess of £100K
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

That'd put you in the top 2% of UK earners based on 2023 figures.

Prime Minister is £161,866, might soon have a vacancy there.
  • @mebu60 - bit of a poisoned chalice I hear 🤣

    @TELLIT01 - school half term, I wish 🤣

    Only fans.
Don't think I would make the £100k doing it though.

Some computer programmers / software developers are well into six figures.  It may take some years to reach that grade, but you don't necessarily need a degree to get there

Some specialist IT roles (I had an email about a contract position today at £69/hour)
Investment banker type roles probably, but I don’t really know what those people actually do.
I’d imagine certain self employed trades could also do very well.

Wishful thinking for most of us though I’m afraid.  If it was as easy as finding out what jobs pay that much, then applying for one of them, we’d all be doing it.

Easy: you just have to do a PhD at Oxbridge and then get 5 years experience.
