Problems with my kitchen worktop

I have just put in a new kitchen. I purchased a quartz worktop through the kitchen company.
It is a matt finish quartz worktop. I was advised not to clean the worktop for 24 hours after fitting. The next day when I attempted to clean it, I noticed quite a bit of sticky material on the surface which was hard to remove with the warm soapy water I was advised to use. Once it did come off, it left permanent marks on the worktop. I also noticed that the worktop surface was quite porous to water. Even a wet cup would leave an imprint. The kitchen company were informed and the stone company they purchased from came to remove the marks.
Unfortunately they did not remove them but then applied a sealant. With the sealant, the surface is much less porous and functions well as a worktop, but the marks have apparently been sealed in!
After 4 attempts to remove and reseal the surface, the stone company have agreed to change the worktop. However they have been informed by their suppliers that the stone will be treated at source and should have no sealant applied. If the stone company apply any sealant, their suppliers will not guarantee the worktop should there be further issues.
I was invited to view the new worktop slabs before they are cut to template. Although they are unmarked, a water test shows the stone is quite porous and would be hard to maintain.
I am now in a difficult position as I like the worktop in appearance but only like its function in the sealed form.
What are my options. This has been going on for the past 3 months!

Pick something else. It's only a matter of time before you get problems again.

Thanks for stating the obvious! Sometimes it’s right in front of you but you can’t see it or respond to it!!Slinky said:Pick something else. It's only a matter of time before you get problems again.0
