We are going to look at the payments tonight and make some of the overpayments - I think it will be a massive boost to see the balances dropping quickly.1

Good that you are working together on it. Honestly not all of us here are that stage yet so it's a good sign. Just remember to leave a bit spare for a flat tyre, broken washer etc. sorry to say it but things like this can and will crop up on your debt free journey. But good luck and well done. Set mini targets to keep you motivated. First step is under 100k. You can do it!!Harrysplan said:We are going to look at the payments tonight and make some of the overpayments - I think it will be a massive boost to see the balances dropping quickly.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Have you already tried the MSE 0% card eligibility checker? Obviously cutting up and closing the cards that you transfer from as you go.0

Yes, we don't appear to be eligible for anything. I think that the main issue is our affordability. I also missed a couple of payments about 6 months ago when dad died so that will also be a factor. We are going to look again in 6 months.stymied said:Have you already tried the MSE 0% card eligibility checker? Obviously cutting up and closing the cards that you transfer from as you go.0 -
Hi Everyone,
So we are a good few months in now and things are going well. A couple of bumps in the road as we've adjusted to a new way of life. We have cleared some of the high interest debts completely now which feels great.1 -
Well done, basically. A few months down the line, maybe do a soft search for 0% transfers. Anything you could get would be great. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

£450 is going to be very tight on groceries, most people find that its better to set a more generous one and actually stick to it.
Sorry if I have missed it but when does your mortgage fix end?0
