Many Child Benefit claimants are yet to receive their payment for June due today, which some say has left them unable to pay for bills and facing being hit with late payment and/or overdraft fees. HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has asked people not to get in touch while it "urgently" tries to fix the problem – though it doesn't have a timeframe on how long this will take.

A bit pedantic, but Child Benefit is paid four-weekly (or weekly), not monthly
