Current account with joining bonus and no need for DDs to be transferred?

Hi

Does anyone know of any current accounts that offer a joining bonus but don't need direct debits to be transferred over to qualify for the bonus?
I'm going to be setting up a new joint account, i.e. it won't be replacing either of our individual current accounts so there won't be any direct debits/standing orders.
Thanks in advance

https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/compare-best-bank-accounts/#switch summarises the current offers, TSB looks suitable but you need to check the terms on the bank's own site rather than just taking MSE's word for it (or mine!).

It at sounds like you want the bonus for opening a new account but not switch an existing account across to it.

The bonuses are typically for switching to a new bank. Do you intend to do so?

I've got bonuses in the past for opening current accounts and not switching an existing account to it, so it's not an unusual thing (I've got 4 current accounts and got bonuses when opening all but the first one)

Thanks - I did check that page but assumed that as it says "switch in another account from a different bank" that it requires an account transfer - this will be a new account, not replacing our existing current accounts for either of us.
I'll dig into the Ts and Cs.

Ah right, I assumed you'd be switching an unused account, which presumably remains an option if you have more than you need?  Having said that, sticking a couple of DDs onto such an account prior to switching would open up more possibilities, and you can open a new account specifically for that purpose if none of your existing ones would be suitable....

I'm not aware of any current offers simply for opening an account without switching, but perhaps you can get some cashback through one of the third party cashback providers?

I don't have any unused accounts, they've all now got direct debits or standing orders in them but this new account won't have any (it's for a specific purpose so only money going in then debit card/Google payments but no other banking actions)

Good point about the cashback sites, I'll check those out, thanks  :)
