Amazon warranty on Kindle


Recently my Kindle died with an error showing Low Battery constantly.
Contacted Amazon help and they are saying it is out of warranty; it was purchased in June 2022.
I questioned this as i though electrical goods were covered for two years regardless of what the manufacturer stated.
They said it is incorrect and pointed me to a guide saying the Kindle is only has a one-year warranty in the UK, elsewhere it is 2 years.
Does anyone know if this is correct?

A manufacturers warranty is what they choose to offer and the length of it is down to them.You are looking at your rights under the consumer rights act which says that after six months you need to prove that there was fault when you bought it, which means getting an inependent report to take it any further.
You need to decide whether the cost of doing that is worth it given the any reparation will take account of the use you’ve had from it up until now.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

EU consumer law stipulates that consumers must be given a minimum 2-year guarantee (legal guarantee) as a protection against faulty goods unless their country's national law requires a longer guarantee.
What they did not tell you is that in the UK our consumer laws extend well beyond 2 years protection against faulty goods.
Your claim would be against the retailer rather than the manufacturer. Who did you buy it from?1 -
If the Kindle had been left fully discharged for an extended period it could affect the battery. I had one for years which was used regularly and would only need to be charged about once a week even when reading a lot on holiday. We had a long pause between holidays, the Kindle was unused, and the battery discharged much faster after that.

It was manufactured and sold by Amazon.The product was used in March this year and had charge at that poitnt so not discharged for any period of time.1

have tried all troubleshooting from Google and forum Amazon. Tthis was more about what rights I have and what Amazon should or should not do to fix it.0

As explained, because it’s more than six months since purchase you need to prove it had an inherent fault when purchased or is faulty because it’s of insufficient quality.The best way to do this is to get an independent report from a suitably qualified person.0

Not sure if this is helpful at all but my amazon said low battery and would not charge. I left it over night etc different cables different plugs
Following the dead kindle steps online for a hard reset gave it some life back. Plug it in then hold the on button for 40 seconds.
I ended up leaving mine on charge for 24 hours and it did work but it gave no sign of life until several hours in.0
