Joint First Direct "tasks" for £175

Just a quick question.
We're opening up a joint First Direct account.
Do both of us need to use our debit card 5 times, or is it 5 times between us in order to qualify for the joining bonus?
Thanks in advance, I am confident someone here will already have done this. 😁

I'd imagine 5 from either debit card - we usually don't advise going for a joint switch bonus with First Direct though as it means neither party will be able to benefit from a sole account bonus. Two lots of £175 are better than 1.1

Thanks Will,
I did think about 2 accounts, but really we need a 'proper' joint account because we're getting rid of our Smile joint account that we've had for decades, so I wanted it for decent customer service over and above the sweetener.
Our main account that we (I) use for all other spending is Chase, which frustratingly doesn't offer a joint account. But it gives us free money via cashback at 1%

You're welcome. There's always the option of getting 2 sole bonuses (perhaps using a burner additional account from Chase) then setting up a joint account after.ailuro2 said:Thanks Will,
