Ticketmaster Resale

I can't go to an event for various reasons so I contacted Ticketmaster to put our tickets up for resale. Today I got an email saying the tickets had been sold, and was given a link to follow. This link took me to a third-party site (Adyen) which is requesting all sorts of personal information - date of birth, bank details, scans of personal ID (e.g. passport or driving licence) and a copy or scan of a bank statement. This seems bloody excessive, so - is it genuine? And if so, why all the hoops to jump through, given that Ticketmaster already have al the info necessary to give us a refund? (cynical viewpoint - they just want to discourage you from getting your money back)
