TDS - How long does the EA have to return deposit at the end of tenancy?

Hi, need a bit of advice.
Tenancy ended on 18th April, I had email confirmation from EA on 24th April that deposit will be returned in full, but I still haven't received it.
Deposit is in TDS scheme and as of today, it's still there. The EA haven't even bothered to request the money. I've sent several emails but never received a response. When I call, they always say the person dealing with it is unavailable and will call me back (of course, that never happens).
What are my next steps? I really need the money back asap, it's been 6 weeks since the tenancy ended and 5 weeks since they confirmed the deposit will be returned.
Also, does it matter that the EA never provided me with the deposit protection certificate? I had to find the details of it myself from the TDS website by entering various details (address, tenancy start date, rent etc). When I was renting in the past, the EA always provided me with the certificate/reference number.
Thank you for all advice.

Cant you request its return via the tds website? They then send the ea a request who approves it or not. Or thats how it was last time i had to claim a deposit back1

If you can’t get them to refund your deposit, send them a letter before action. Should be some templates around on google.2006 LBM £28,000+ in debt.

Claim direct via TDS website. If LL/EA does not respond to TDS they will release the funds. If you never received the deposit scheme 'Prescribed Information' you can claim the penalty. See
