Morning Gers, morning allNo rain expected today, hooray, which is good as we're off to DS's later as he has a 2 man job to do on his car so DH is helping him with that while I sit with tea and have a good gossip with his partner! I've also got some sunflowers I've grown to give them for their garden. I planted my ones the other day, DS is doing a BBQ later but I think we might be eating that indoors!Have a good day all x10

Morning folks and thanks GERS. They who know have promised us a lovely w/e before the rain returns on Monday. On the strength of that I won't bother watering any pots.
I am off down into town early doors as there are odd bits I want. Nothing vital if I decide I cba after all! But I really do need some new slippers as my current ones are beginning to be a bit of a hazard with flapping soles! I did buy a new pair a couple of weeks back but decided to leave them at the caravan as my pair there seem to have disappeared.
No fixed plans for the w/e. I may even manage a rare sit out reading if the forecast lives up to promise. Have a good day all and ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care and stay safe xx

Good morning, it's fine here, yesterday was ok as well. It didn't rain!
Yesterday's thread was very newsy and I know I can't remember everyone's posts to respond, but I read them all.
Hope kitty enjoyed the sleepover Dp1. Your dd certainly gets about, Turkey looks really nice, I've seen things on tv.
TA the travel pass starts at 9.30 a.m here in Co Durham, thought everywhere did.
Our decorating plans have been held up by the discovery of a damp patch on the wall in the sitting room. DH thinks he can sort it himself, but it'll involve some
repapering which we hadn 't bargained for.a
Still, we have plenty of time to sort it out.
Hope everyone has a good day, thoughts to anyone who is not well.
Take care folks.

I'm fortified with caffeine now, am listening to Tony Blackburn and really enjoying the trip back to my early youth. 'Hang on Sloopy' by The McCoys almost made me cry in joy. It's like seamless time travel, suddenly I'm back in our lovely council house dancing around the living room. 😀
Buying the local weekly paper is always a disappointment, it's really mostly pages of adverts with very little news. I don't buy it often and when I do I end up kicking myself. Ah well, it'll be used for the stove later in the year. I had a quick chat to my friend in Oz, well actually I had a quick listen to her - she talks and talks and can move herself from one topic to another without pause. She's a proper chatterbox and I'm just the opposite. My white wash dried beautifully on the line, wish I had more to wash as today would be the day. Once again I have no plans. No banking to do because of the weekend, it'll all take place on Monday.@Camelot and @WL - I hope that you both feel better today. @WL - it'd be such a shame to miss the lunch and party. When I'm stuffed up I smear vapour rub round my nostrils, it's great for the skin and breathing.@Iris - did you manage to stay dry?
@DP1 - did you and little one enjoy the film? Did the hospital set a date?@Snoozer - you really have your hands and life full. How you are looking after so many of the family is wonderful, the glimpses you give into it are exhausting even to read. I'm imagining that your talk at the Council last night went down a storm.@Coxy - lovely to see you. Working in a small office is always a challenge. Thinking back to your last job this one is so different. At least you're out of what is probably a chaotic time there just now.Hugs to all our poorlies.10 -
Morning all
Thanks Gers for starting off - you’ll be pleased to know I no longer have a tingly backside!, obviously just landed on some nettles.Yes, you’re right, it’s noisy and dusty but the builders are being very tidy and clearing up after themselves each day. They’ve got all the old slabs up, and prepared the ground ready for the new ones. There’s two skips just outside the drive (fortunately there’s some dead space there), there was 10 tonnes of hardcore in the drive some now used, 5 pallets of slabs scattered around plus 10 tonnes of sand and a pallet of cement sacks. Safe to say there’s not much of the lawn left to mow!I was more tired yesterday than I have been for a long time - managed to sleep properly and didn’t wake until 715am which is late for me.NHS health check all ok apart from high blood pressure so have to take it at home for a week - it’s perfectly fine here so must be ‘white coat syndrome’!No firm plans today but do need to have an investigation of some now empty pallets to see what I might be able to make with the wood…….
hope everyone has a good weekend

Morning all. Dull but dry here.
Well, I think I'm going to go to the engagement party today. To be honest, my sensible head says No but my emotional head says Yes! If it was anything else I'd back out but this is too important. Part of it is that his fiancee's parents are from a very different culture and I would hate to cause offence; I might be overthinking this though! DD and family will be at the party plus most of DS's old schoolfriends so looking forward to seeing them all again. Out of a group of 7 mid 30s males they all have partners, some have children as well, but only 3 of them are married. I think it's wonderful that they have all kept in touch since leaving school and moving to different parts of the country; quite unusual for men.
I'd better be off to get ready. Will take plenty of tissues and paracetamol with me
Happy Saturday everyone.

Morning everyone and thank you for starting us off Gers and 'yes' yesterday stayed dry.
Today is grey, but no rain forecast so I've stripped the bed and have a wash load on atm, hopefully it will dry outside.
I have put a 'homemade' weed killer in a spray bottle I bought, however, it only sprays if I hold it upright and I need to point it 'down' at the weeds!!
I'll probably go for a walk later today for some exercise and maybe a bit of gardening - although I'm not in the 'mood' for gardening.
Hope you all have a good weekend. x10 -
Morning everyone thanks for the start Gers my en suite looks lovely very pleased with it he will be back in three weeks to do the bathroom he’s done a brilliant job and no mess I don’t think we have a straight wall in the house so he has had his work cut out I need to put everything back into that bedroom now and give it a good clean at least when the bathroom is done there’s nothing to move it’s just at the top of the stairs. I’ve got bedding on the line and towels in it’s supposed to stay dry today but we won’t see any sunshine we are under a load of dark clouds. AA I hope all your work is done soon WL enjoy your party. Right must crack on thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning All
I have the lurgy. Not felt this rough for a while although the covid test was negative. I went to bed at 7.30 last night and slept on and off until 7 this morning.
I've been out for essentials and to water the allotment and that's it for today!
Hope everyone is well, take care. XX8 -
Morning! I have hold of the computer for a short while [ when OH is on lates, he gets up and immediately starts playing computer games which means I don't get to post]. I can't complain too much, I normally hog the computer anyway. It's being a bit windy today, perfect clothes drying weather if it weren't for fears about intermittent rain. Well, we've had our reduced quote back for the box on the back and it's doable. It will wipe out most, if not all, of my savings, but if the end result means I can waft around a new kitchen, it is on...Rosy, any words of advice? Today is yep, you guessed it, more gardening. I need to put things out,t ake things out, install some new stuff etc, because the tomatoes need their home back.I just have to hope some of it survives the slug and snail onslaught. We had fibre installed a couple of days ago, it's quite fast too, I was surprised with how quick everything loads now, not that it was slow before, but it's near instant now when I click on things. And cheaper...for now...Allie, you did make laugh with your tingly bottom
Izzy, huzzah! new bathroom a go go! Gers, pinch punch reminds me of Nels too, every time I make flatbreads I remember her telling me it was cheaper and nicer and easier to make your own. I can't remember if I mentioned it but I managed to record the calls I'd made to my mother [recorded by accident] beofre the phones were switched off. It was lovely to hear her voice again and my father shouting away in the background telling me it was him who'd made the puccine [italian stew] ...felt quite weird all day after that. And I have a friend like that too
WL, hope it all goes well and youre not too bad..different cutlutres are not going to mind if you are ill though, honestly...Iris, don't worry about being in the mood, get out there and do some wafting about...:) Florence, hope your OH is better, fluid removed from his lungs? what was all that about? Coxy, hope it's all good for the wedding...it#ll be nice to see your dad again..nanny, hope you're doing OK, and the rash is gone.. Tak care all, prepare for chageable weather!
