Octopus Energy billing issues

I was moved over to Octopus Energy from Shell in February. I am on a fixed tariff with monthly billing but Octopus seem incapable of billing when they should.
In 3 months I’ve been billed 10 times, ranging from usage for 1 day up to 6 weeks. The billing also includes estimated bills even though I’m on a smart meter. I have no idea what my usage is as the bills do not make sense & my account balance changes even when nothing has been credited or debited! I have made many complaints but after each one I get yet another bill!. I have threatened going to the energy ombudsman but I don’t think they care.
Has anyone else had similar issues & how was this resolved?

I have been with Octopus since February 2023
I have given them a meter reading every first of the month and receive a bill in a few days
The bill has always been within a few pence of my own calculations
I am on a fixed dual fuel tariff too but not on a smart meter
I have never had a problem
I will give them my readings in the morning and I expect to get a bill by Sunday at least for the Electric
If you have no idea what your usage is how do you expect to be able to contradict what they might tell you ?
At the very least you should read your own meter every month smart or not.0 -
I had endless similar problems with Octopus, and their customer service was hopeless. Do you have a SMETS1 meter? We have, and that seemed to be the source of the problem in our case. In the end, I couldn’t stand it anymore and left. Took months to get a final bill that made sense
