Epson printer tracking?

Hi
I have replaced my old Epson printer with a new Epson XP 4200 printer
If I signed up to the free trail "Ready print scheme" Epson decides when I need replacement ink cartridges.which hopefully I can save them up as I won't use them all.
Now my idea is run the printer and near the end of the month replace my cartridges with near empty ones so I get sent new ones.
Then at the end of the trail cancel the subscription and go back to copy cartridges from stinky ink when my supply of Epson cartridges has run out.
My worry is will the printer accept the copy cartridges or would I have to reset the printer and delete and reinstall all the drivers I need on the PC?
Thanks

Well actually they might work for few days beyond that, if the printer and computer are not connected to the internet. Like subscription software, it will need to "phone home" every so often to check your subscription is still live!
There are stories about printer firmware updates (which will have been happening in the background) preventing 3rd party ink. So, if the 3rd party cartridges work once you cancel you subscription I'd take all possible steps to block firmware updates ASAP.1 -
I think Stinky ink guarantee their inks always work.
Their guarantee is brilliant and it's no quibbleSpending my time reading how to fix PC's,instead of looking at Facebook.-1
