Unsure if I have the right oil for my car

I have a 57 reg honda jazz. I've used 5w-30 engine oil before. I found a shell one at euro carparts that was £6.70 for a litre. It's shell helix HX8 5W-30. I bought it and then realised you can put your number plate on the website and it gives you the correct oil for your car. All the oils that come up are 5w-30 however the one I bought doesn't show. I haven't used it yet but I'm worried now that it could be the wrong oil. Are there specific types of 5w-30 oil. Is it better to go and buy a the correct one or am I OK to use this.

I can't see how it would make a difference to your car.   Just use the oil you bought.

The specification, 5w-30 is the important bit.

The brand is pretty much irrelevant, however Shell have been making lubricants for years so what you have will be absolutely fine.

In the old days 0w-30 or 10w-40 etc was all a car required.
Modern cars require such specific oils.
Only Total make the exact oil for my car £60-£70 for 5 litres.
Even the main dealers don’t use it during a service.
As long as it meets PSA B71 2312 it’s ok for my car.
When I start serving the car myself I’m going with Mannol.
Quality oil at a great price. Via eBay, 20l = £59.99.

    2007 isn't that modern, and it's a Honda Jazz. I've yet to see one exceed 28mph. :)
