This company have just charged my partner £600 quid even though the letter stated £191.50. Claiming as they had to send out a debt collector to the address.
This is where it gets silly.
the debt was for a unpaid Dart charge fee that they chased however we had moved house so had no knowledge. The debt collectors finally sent a letter to our correct address, so my partner called them to pay however they claimed it was the higher amount due to visiting the property. the property they visited was the old address the day before the phone call my partner made.
So why did they go to the old address when they had our current one??
anyway my other half paid as they said if she didn't it would go to court so she panicked and paid it.
Any thoughts on how best to challenge this and get the money back?

You might also try the Free Traffic Legal advice forum which would deal much more frequently with Dart crossing charges.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
