Does anyone know what the difference truly is between the 3 in 1 vs the 2 in 1?

I can't seem to see what the difference actually is, other than perhaps the mop head and even then I have no idea what the two other functions are apart from mopping

It's the mop head.

The 3-in-1 head has a sort of 'pad' in the middle that the 2-in-1 head doesn't.

Ahhh. Can the mop head from a 2 in 1 be replaced with a 3 in 1 then?

I tried it (Vileda 2in1 mop head on the Vileda 3in1 broomstick and vice versa) and they are compatible.

So you can buy the Vileda 3in1 replacement head and put it on the Vileda 2in1 broom stick.
