Hang pictures without damaging walls

Hi everyone.
How can I hang pictures without damaging the paint or making holes.
Some pics are large but have light frames (think light wood and plastic instead of glass), some are heavier (wood and glass).
Thanks

Are you renting by any chance? When we rented we just didn't put any pictures up.0 -
Not renting but dont want holes in the walls.Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0

The only way I know is quite expensive. It means using magnetic plaster, which costs about £90 per bag, but quite popular with rich people.1

Let me introduce you to command hooks! You can buy them in any DIY type store or amazon. They do remove without damage but you have to follow the process correctly, I have heard.I put one on my front door for a Christmas wreath but never bothered removing it. It's been there for four years, so I can vouch for them sticking.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Yup I use command strips. They come in different sizes for different weights1

Command strips are your friend
Also hung heavier large pictures - go for the over 7kg strips (hook and loop I think) and if very heavy use one each corner and another one in the middle on the longest side. Removing strips off wall you have to keep the part you are pulling as close to the wall as possible sliding it along slowly then it comes off easily. Edit: these ones had above strips but just one in the centre top and bottom.

Command hooks/strips are generally very good and do normally both stick well and come off without any damage to the paint but it does depend a little on the quality of the paint. Have had a minority that haven't stuck, the paint did have a chalky finish which may have been the problem, and a single case of paint coming off when removing it so they aren't perfect.1

Thanks all. Will have to look out for those. Now I just need to get my pictures framed.Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0

I've always used command strips but in new place, I had a couple A3 frames fall down, one smashed the glass, the other scuffed the wall and the paint on wall will come off before the mark.
The reason, they didn't fall off the wall but did come off the MDF backing, so if you can, extra secure the command strips with super glue if you can, if the material isn't the most firm. They'd be fine on the frame if it's solid wood, chipboard or MDF.. better to be reassured they're not going anywhere. Two corners should do you!1
