NCP fine due to Autopay feature maintenance

Hi, I’ve read the newbies and other threads and still unsure of what to do, so really grateful of any help.
I have a PCN notice to keeper originally dated in feb, from parking in an NCP in January. I always used the autopay app feature previously but it went under maintenance (one email was sent in November, there was so signage at the car park, notification that the maintenance was taking so long or reminder to pay using another method). When I realised the money hadn’t come out (about a week later) I contacted customer service to pay for the parking session and they said “if you get a PCN, just appeal”. I appealed (at this point is was pay £100 or £60 within 14 days) within the timeframe providing evidence of the customer service chat and never received a response.
I’ve since had a debt collector letter demanding £170, complained to them (in hindsight probably shouldn’t have contacted) and NCP and the debt collector has provided a copy of an appeal response apparently emailed to me in March which I NEVER RECEIVED showing an option to pay a discounted £20. NCP sent an automated reply to call them instead but I’ve been very unwell and only just up to doing that today. My gut feel from the other threads is it’s pointless to call them and to just ignore/ride out? Very anxious about this and has someone who genuinely thought they’d paid and tried to rectify immediately it’s caused so much stress. Grateful of any help!

Definitely contact NCP and state your position, telling them that no discount offer was ever received etc , trying to negotiate a new settlement, similar to the one previously offered
Ignore the debt collectors letters, do not contact the debt collectors again, they are powerless and can only follow their client's instructions
The dispute is between you and NCP, if their auto-pay was down for maintenance, that is completely their fault, so the PCN should have been cancelled2 -
You do know not to pay even if you get a court claim? Read the NEWBIES thread 2nd and 4th posts please.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
