Hi, my husband was medically retured on full occupational pension in 2009 with MS. He claimed DLA, which transferred to PIP, but nothing else. Despite calling the DWP in 2010, going through DLA and PIP process and getting help from citz adv, we were never advised regarding esa or NI credits. The DWP said the occupational pension meant he earnt too much for any benefits. He is now 8 years short on NI years. We have been accepted for ESA, backdated to January, but are trying to get the NI contributions. Does anyone have any experience or advice please? Thank you.
