Should I fix my energy costs?
MSE's latests email suggests it may be a good idea to move to a fixed tarif for 12 months. However, it also says that the price cap is due to fall again in July. Wouldn't it be better to wait until July to move to a fixed tariff, so you fix at a lower price still?

There is no guarantee that there will be a lower priced fixed tariff come July.
Energy suppliers know that price caps are due to rise again in October so there is no benefit in them offering lower tariffs.
The lowest priced fixed rate tariffs have already been pulled following the July price cap being announced.2 -
Want to know exactly what you'll pay based on your kWh usage? Fix
Want to perhaps pay less over the next year, but willing to risk paying more? Don't fix1 -
I only go for tariffs with no exit fee. So it's no problem to switch whenever there is a significantly better deal out there.
