Advice regarding local mechanic payment via debit card

Hello
My car had broken down and I arranged for a local garage to investigate/repair the issue.
They identified that the injectors needed replacing, which I agreed to. I paid over £2,000 and was told that the car was fixed and ready for collection. On the journey home the coolant pipe popped off which caused the car to overheat, the garage came out re-attached and fixed the issue. Over the next week I noticed that the drive was covered in liquid which I assumed to be coolant. I was then presented with a low oil message on the car, I took it back to the garage who informed me that they didn’t believe it to be their work that was causing the problem. However, they arranged for me to come back in at a scheduled time and they would investigate the issue. They inspected the car and told me that I had a leak at the front of the engine, and it didn’t relate to their work, however, they had cleaned the engine and I now owed them £24 (invoice was provided stating leak location), which I paid.
Their advice was to trade the car in as it would be a costly fix, however, this wasn’t something I felt comfortable about.
I have since had the car inspected by another mechanic who identified that the oil leak was due to the original garage not replacing rubber seals on each injector. They priced the work at 5 hours labour and the cost of parts, which I agreed to. When they commenced the work, they identified that the seals where missing and that was the reason for the leak. They took pictures of each injector capturing the missing part and the state of them as it was covered in congealed oil. My block paving has a section now covered in oil 3ft by 2 ft section.
I have spoken to the owner of the local garage who completed the original work, who has listened to my complaint. He informed me that the seals are usually supplied on the injectors by the manufacturer and said they would investigate and get back to me. The deadline for them to be in touch was yesterday and I haven’t heard back yet.
The original Payment was via debit card over the telephone (15th March) and the investigation payment was on the 27th of March in person.
I am looking to obtain a partial refund of the original payment (cost of 2nd mechanic to repair the job and the investigation cost).
The wife has mentioned she would also like for my block pavement to be cleaned/replaced as it is now a disgrace and there is a risk of it being transferred into the house on visitors’ feet. I would assume this would need pursuing through small courts?
