I`ve missed the better fixed Octopus Gas deals. I do not have a smart meter. I am on Flexible Octopus, Dual fuel, monthly DD and on standard tariff (medium user and do not use any gas for six summer months) . Got quote today for Octopus 12 Month Fixed with no version indicated eg like V4  - Electricity Unit rate 24.85p (22.36p) [25.25p] + standing charge 47.85p (60.12p) [47.85p] - Gas unit rate 5.63p (5.48p) [5.96p] + standing charge 28.95p (31.41p) [28.95p]
Current tariff in [ ] and from July average price cap in ( ) . Quote gives DD £138.18 with annual cost of £1598.21 as opposed to my current annual cost of £1641.41.
Is the Octopus 12 month fixed a reasonable deal for me?

Outfox The Market might be offering cheapest 12 month fix depending on usage.

Tried to move from Octopus April v1 fix to May fix last week ,because it would save me a further £50 pa - couldn't get thru' to them, because you can't do it from the online account.
Was going to try again first thing this morning but the fix version now showing for me would actually be £25 more pa !
Got to be fast (and lucky) now on the phones!

Perhaps too late now, but I have previously had success in getting older Octopus fixes applied after they’ve been withdrawn by making the request via email.  Did have to push them for it a bit, but they did eventually accept the argument that the fix was available when I’d made my request (despite them taking a week to respond) they’d still honour the earlier version that had since been replaced.
    Moo…
