Last Minute Multi Centre Holiday

Hi, My wife and I are trying to get the best holiday we can for are budget £1500PP (£3000 total). We are looking to see if a multi centre holiday is an option for the budget. Its almost last minute (It is for us) we would need to go on weekend of 29th June and need to be back for work by Monday 15th July. We have approached a couple of independent travel agents and have been offered Phuket and Khao Lak. We don't really fancy the full break being in Thailand in the rain season and as I said would fancy Bangkok more if in Thailand or Kuala lumpa in Masaya. A lot of the trips online include Dubai but I think this would be over budget and too expensive when there.
What I am basically asking is for the budget what is a realistic trip we have never done this type of holiday not sure where to start.
Thanks

If you want to see different places but want to limit your exposure to the prices in different countries, then why not consider a cruise?  Cruises tend to have a lot of older people but we find that they make a lot of sense for us too.
