I have E7 meter, switched to stan var rate for electricity but kept meter. EDF is adding together rdgs for bill as i dont want Smart Meter. Keep getting emails saying the radio signal is stopping soon? Will this matter as i am paying stan rate for all electricity?

RTS meters use radio signal to switch between the registers in your meter. If you're on a single rate tariff then this shouldn't affect you.RTS meters are reaching end-of-life so it won't be long before you need to get your meter changed. This might need to be a smart meter but you should be able to ask your supplier not to take half-hourly readying if this is your concern.0

Yes it will.
Not so much for billing.
Although there is a risk some rts setups will fail on restricted circuit / tariiff switching - which may not apply to you.
But because your rts meter will almost certainly be deemed end of life and be swapped for smart under those rules.
The best you can perhaps then realistically hope for is smart in dumb no comms mode.0 -
Is your meter definitely RTS? It's possible they're sending it out to everyone on non-smart E7 meters to cover themselves.
But either way, when the meter reaches the end of its certification period they have a legal obligation to replace it, and it will be with a smart meter.0
