Just seen this on x , I'm coming to the end of my fixed and the standing charges for me have never gone up or down , is it just !!!!!! from eon🤷

On the SVT, which Ofgem sets, then both the rate and the SC are fixed for the three month period. For any other contract the supplier can set whatever terms they like, as long as they are legal, so it is up to the customer to read the small print.
I'm guessing in the case cited, that the unit rate is particularly keen, so they are covering their backs against a sharp SC rise, which they have to pay at the prevailing rate, which might wipe out their slim margin.1 -
I have seen one supplier offer some type of tariff that is semi-fixed, they fix the wholesale part of the unit rate but then reserve the right to vary other parts (and in the tariff info they detailed exactly which parts could vary and which parts wouldn't). I wonder if this is possibly that sort of thing.
Sorry for the vague response, I can't for the life of me remember which supplier or what the tariff was called at all!1 -

The price of energy we supply you is fixed, protecting you from any increase in wholesale energy costs. The tariff also includes variable costs which are linked to external industry costs that can go up or down each quarter during the term of your tariff.
