Morning again, coffee made.
It's not a bad morning, could go either way - yesterday deteriorated into heavy rain.
I'm going out this morning to a nearby shopping centre where there's a big M&S, there are a couple of things I want to look at. I'll pop into other shops as well.
That's it for me for today, Hope everyone has a good day.
Take care folks.

Morning All
Same with the weather here Scarlet, could turn out ok but I'm not holding my breath! At least the plants in the garden are being well watered.
Found out there are no voluntary redundancies at work but we will lose hours from our office so not sure what's going to happen - there's a big meeting next week.
Well done on the bike ride Ruby, that's some distance.
Washing is hanging about on the airers, if the weather is ok when I get home I'll put it out for a while.
Hope everyone is ok, take care. XX9 -
Morning everyone just a quick one from me I think we all have the same weather bathroom is ongoing they sent the wrong shower unit but just as quickly they sent the right one,out unfortunately the shower tray was broken so that has held the job up so a new one is coming today but it has pushed everything back so they are going to finish a job they were supposed to be doing Friday and coming back here Thursday and Friday so a bit of juggling is going on why isn’t anything straight forward I’m off to do a cleaning job now then I will come back and do my own we still have a yard full of rubbish but that can’t go until Friday now so hopefully over the weekend it will look a bit better. Stir fry for tonight that’s nice and easy it’s still chilly here roll on summer it can’t possibly be like this much longer. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

Morning allLooking a bit drier here than yesterday. May even have little bit of sun peeking through now and again. That will cheer up my sunflowers that I planted out at the weekend!Applied to help with polling day at my local Council. Don't think I could manage to stay up until the early hours counting votes but can easily be at a polling station for 7am opening so will see what they offer.Boring housework today and not alot else.Have a good day all x9

Morning all - thanks for starting us off @Scarlet. The weather here is still to make up it's mind. A very low cloud base an wet ground, yesterday there was heavy drizzle. Last night I put a blanket on my bed again as I was cold, even had the electric blanket on for a few minutes. My final invigilation session went fine. One student with a reader and scribe doing Higher Art and Design. Despite having extra time they finished even earlier than the usual time. Then I was very good, only bought fuel on the way home.Today the cleaner is coming so I will absent myself beforehand, probably do a wee shopping expedition or even just a mooch.@Camelot - that's surprising! And a shame.@Izzy - that's a nuisance, if things go smoothly it'd be a first. Sounds like your workies are onto it though.@Scarlet - I miss a big M&S, but it stops me picking up stuff! I was thinking back to the days when M&S had all the jumpers on long shelves. To buy more than one item the customer had to be given a shopping card to write down each thing and then an assistant went off to round them all up. That seemed so great back then, my DM was so pleased. Thanks to all for sharing their days. Hugs to our poorlies with some left over for those who want one.9

Morning folks. At the risk of sounding boring we can expect rain here too by lunchtime. It looks as though we had heavy rain overnight but I must have slept through it. Unusual for me as I am woken up by the least noise.
I must have forgotten to post yesterday but it was going to be a day of same old same old with nothing worth mentioning anyway! I am dithering over having a bus ride along the valley this morning just for a change. Just odd bits needed and I can live without them if I cba turning out.. This miserable weather hardly encourages you to go out as it's not much fun traipsing about in the rain.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care all and be safe xx

Morning all. The sun's shining here but the forecast for today is more rain.
Went to a good music session last night, even though there were only four of us there. We all know each other well so had fun playing tunes we all knew and attempting ones we didn't! I won't get back there until August so we've agreed a tune we'll all work on for then.
Today I seem to have started a rotten cold so have pulled out of doing my Larder slot and have also told DD it wouldn't be a good idea to bring the children over tomorrow. I've taken some paracetamol and will lie low for today.
Best wishes all.9 -
Hi everyone,
Camelot, that's annoying, I bet they won't reduce the amount of work to be done.
Gers, we had a new M & S open a few years ago, it's only 5 minutes away down the A1 and it's a great temptation, just as well we have Steve's discount.
I got my e-mail written yesterday and I've asked to speak at the Council meeting on Friday although it's a Town Council meeting and I think the vast majority feel as I do. I'm still pondering whether to ask to speak at the Local Authority meeting.
I've got a hair appointment this morning, they seem to come around so fast, I don't think my hair has grown as much as normal but I'll still go. I noticed the cost has gone up again - £40 for a cut and blow dry, my hair is short and very fine, it's almost dry by the time she finishes cutting, I noticed the time allotted is 40 minutes but mine usually takes about half that time and she slots me in while someone is waiting for a colour to work, maybe I should ask for a discount (I won't of course, I'll just grumble on here).
Have a good day.9 -
Morning all, thanks Scarlet for starting. Its actually dry at the moment but not very promising. TA you are right, the rain makes me feel like I can't be bothered going out, it's a shame because with it being half term, I have more free time.Camelot, so you still don't really know what's happening at school - very unsettling for you. There was enough of the leftover turkey joint, once I'd added mushrooms, leek and a bit of bacon & gravy, to make an extra pie for the freezer. I've also ordered a butchers pack, I'll pick that up on Friday.Yesterday I had a good sort out of my wardrobe, not the clothes but the high shelf where I'd stashed all sorts of sewing bits, cook books etc. I've found a big plastic box with a handle, which fits in the shelf better, put elastics, buttons, zips, ribbons, cotton etc into plastic bags and hopefully stuff will be easier to find. Taken the books out of the boxes and lined them up at the front so they're more accessible too. The big cupboard on the landing got the same treatment, so now there is a box of shoes (mine
), winter coats and at the other end - the carpet washer and the 'big' shark hoover which I find too heavy to keep moving up stairs. With the arrival of the cordless shark bought with the MSE code, which folds down, I can have 1 up,1 down. I'm impressed with the new one,& the amount of dog hair it got up, she is moulting atm.
No idea what's for tea, perhaps some salmon out of the freezer. I hope you all have a good day!:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)9 -
Morning all! I've been doing nothing much. We have a fibre install today and I forgot to ask OH for help to move the sofa nd stuff because hopefully they'll be coming through the wall directly into the main room instead of all around the houses like the current bt lines and boxes. I went to see a friend who works in a sofa type shop the other day, saw exactly the kind of chair I've been after for ages, a tall wingback chair, because most of them I've seen are on the floor. This one, even OH could sit comfortably in it, so I've told her not to sell it, I want it
Plus she'll get the commission so all good all round. The builder has been back to discuss our scaled down plans, basically, now we're going for a box on the back, I'll still keep my tiny old kitchen for the time being, it'll end up a utility storage room and we'll still have a shower room dowsntairs, just in a different place. So decisions have been made...phew...which means a new boiler can be installed and the upstairs bathroom can be done now. It'll take me ages ot get round to it, but at least I can think about it.
Cameot, how pants is that. So they don't want to spend fo redundancies so they're saving money by cutting hours? Or am I being too cynical? Izzy, it's the same with every job. I'd like to meet some people who had something done and it didn't go wrong. I reckon I'd have a heart attack...Gers, congrats on your final invigilate, fingers crossed for warme weather today! TA, go on, get out of the house and have some funsnoozer, speak everywhere, what's the worst that can happen? well done for stepping up. Have you got a proposal for how it can be used? and potentially funds to do so? Lottery money? Charity involvement? Can you get some together? Just throwing out suggestions there. Rosy, I'm with you on the smaller hoovers now. I love the handheld one I've got, it does seem to pick up an awful lot of cat hair, I' empty it at least twice when I hoover. I like ot play a game of what's still in there by doing one of the rugs three times
Anyway, take care all, hope everyone is tickety boo or at least not terrible...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi7
