It just surprises me you can't just jump in a cab at an airport with the driver happy at getting a good paying job.
Also if anything like airport near us one private hire company has a monopoly & gets to pick up & drop off for free. Still subject to 15 min max time though. So it would be a call & hope there is a driver free, which was part of the issue OP faced.Life in the slow lane1 -
Many years ago my husband phoned me at 9 pm to ask me to pick him up at Edinburgh airport as none on the taxis would take a fare to Fife.Similarly, at Heathrow when he could not get a taxi prepared to take him to Near High Wycombe.0
