Probate Granted

Hi. Newbie here. I've been following your probate messages for many months now, while nursing a very sick parent. I'm am alone in this process as my only sibling has been estranged for 27 years. Their decision, and not even advancing years (97) and the ill health of our remaining parent prompted a response. So I am the only executor and beneficiary.
I have learnt so much from all of your posts, and knew I could be in for a long wait once the probate application was submitted. My parent passed away on 9th March 2024. I submitted online on 4th May, a Bank Holiday weekend. It was acknowledged about 10days later, and then nothing.
Today, I have an email confirming probate has been granted! Just three and a half weeks. This was a straightforward estate - a house, and bank account that the bank had already released to me so just shy of £300k and no IHT. On checking the status (daily!) it went straight from 'documents received' to 'grant approved'.
I'm shocked at the speed of this, but thought I'd post it to give those still waiting some hope.
