Hi
my sister died intestate. Divorced. 6 adult children
if two of the children apply for letters of administration on PA1A - do the other 4 need to complete form pa12 granting the 2 power of attorney ?
If I as their uncle also wish to be added as administrator on PA1a alongside the two children would the pa12 need to be used ?
anyone with experience of this situation - answers gratefully received

As there are adult children, you wouldn’t have a role to administer the estate as you are further down the hierarchy. Obviously, if they want to informally ask for your help in any aspects of it, they are free to do so.
I may be wrong, but I thought only a maximum of four people could apply anyway? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
If two of them take on the role then the others don’t need to sign anything.0

thanks keep pedalling - that was my thinking too.
Elsien - you are right maximum of 4. As i stated - only two are applying. Regarding 'further down the chain' yes i understand this - which is why I was looking at PA12 - which I believe ? would allow the children to make me an attorney as thier representative.( as well as the two children who have agreed to take on the role.
However I think we will just stick at the two children and as suggested i will just help in the background.
thanks to both for your time
