Is it worth taking out a fixed price deal or is there a price drop due in July?

All providers will have priced the next 12-18 month predictions and knowns into their products, they aren't suddenly going to change their offerings on the 1st July.0

It depends on the fixed deal you can get and what your adversity to risk is.
We have fixed with Outfox the Market on a tariff that is 9% below the current variable rates so will be 2% below the July price cap rates.
With rates forecast to increase again as we head into winter we decided to take a fix at a lower rate while we could. Our tariff has no exit fees so we can switch to other OTM tariffs if they bring out something cheaper (which we did a couple of times last month as they tweaked the rates lower)0 -
Octopus are not historically known for the best fixes in the industry so it could be worth a switch as mentioned above to another supplier.1

Octopus are best for TOU tariffs, though.0
