Gatwick South Terminal Drop Off Charge - 10 hours late ...

Hi hello all!

Firstly I'd like to say, yes, I f'ed up, and it was stupid of me to forget, but I just need your advice right now :c
So on Sunday the 26th, at around 2am I dropped off my parents at the South Terminal drop off zone, which is £6 to be paid before midnight the NEXT day, which would've been 23:59:59 on the 27th -

However it's 10am on the 28th, and as I'm brushing my teeth I realise that I haven't paid for it!
I quickly scramble onto the website, plug in my number plate, and it doesn't come up. There's an option beneath it to create a charge, and it allowed me to make a payment from all the back to the 25th. I pay, I get an email notification, but I'm still worried -

What are the chances that I'll get a fine? I've heard that it can take weeks for it to come in the letter - but I've also heard that they're only £15 if paid before 2 weeks. Is that still true? As I see on their official terms and conditions that it's something like £60 and that's an awful amount.

And if I do get a ticket, is there any point appealing it with the email receipt that I have, showing I paid it 10 hours after the deadline?

Note - I went onto the NCP website, which is apparently the company that runs the Gatwick Airport drop off charge, it says this:

I forgot to pay, how do I pay for my parking now?

Payment can be made up to 3 days after you have exited the drop off. You can pay via our automated payment line - Tel: 0330 174 4503 or online at the PostPay Drop Off - Gatwick Airport website here.

When you enter your vehicle registration, if it has been more than 24 hours since you used the drop off service, it will not be able to identify your vehicle, but you can still make payment by registering your drop off visit.

It says up to 3 days, which is what I saw on the official parking website - does that mean it'll be okay?

But it doesn't matter if you do get a PCN because all the other Gatwick NCP drop off threads give you the winning appeal words.

As long as your vehicle has the right address on your logbook (check) this will be dead easy.

Yep. No money will be paid even if a PCN does arrive.
