Signing IHT400 form

Hi,

Daft question no doubt, but does anyone know if executors who intend to have powers reserved also need to sign IHT400, or is it ok for just the main executor to sign? I've read the notes on the form itself and in the guidance doc, but I'm still unclear.

Thanks

Not a daft question. I remember when I filled it in it was unclear even having read the form and notes
In my case I knew I would be sole acting executor, so just added a note in the 'additional notes' section along the lines of
I and ***** are both named as executors in the will, but I will be applying as sole executor with the other executor power reserved. Hence I alone have signed the declaration
    It wasn't queried at all
