Little Rock Accounts

Hi All,
I've been sorting through my docs this weekend and found 2 x Little Rock savings passbooks for my now grown up children. Obviously Northern Rock are no longer around and I believe they were taken over by Virgin Money.
The passbooks are in my kids names, with my wife as trustee on both; unfortunately my wife has now passed.
I don't even know if the accounts are still live, with balances.
Any hints and tips on how I can start this ball rolling please? Thanks
