Whatever it is, there’s hundreds of the beggars in my garden as well. Always pulling them out before they get too deep rooted. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
Doesn't look the same as the ash in my hedge. Google Lens will give you the answer.1

No, if it’s the same stuff as in my garden, it grows differently to ground elder. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

It is Ash, and I don't need Google to ID it. Ash is becoming a less common species, as dieback disease is killing most of them. I once counted a square metre of ash seedlings germinated in my Dad's garden one spring. It was 53!2

Pot them up, if they thrive you might have found a disease resistant strain.1

Even after 10 years or so, I still can't be sure if any will survive. When the people who work on these things find a resistant strain, I expect they'll go down the tissue culture route.

Had a sapling that managed to get to about six foot before showing any signs of distress, rallied about three times before giving up the ghost.
Shame as I like young Ash trees, the dappled shade is nice.0
