Hi.
C4 Picasso has started displaying an airbag/pretensioner fault, but of course it doesn't tell you which one. So, time to get an OBD Reader, I guess, assuming this will do so?
Any thoughts on the best type? All-in-one with display? Working via a phone App? Via a laptop? Bluetooth? Wired? What?

Thanks for any advice.

Generic eOBD is only for P codes, Powertrain.
Airbag faults won't be read - you need something that does all the additional marque-specific systems for that.2 -

For zero cost, check any connections under the driver & passenger seats, some cars have airbags in the seats and adjusting the seat or allowing items to get under the seat can dislodge the connectors. The next most likely problem is the driver's airbag reading open circuit because the flimsy wind up tape connector (clock spring) behind the steering wheel breaks if you actually turn the steering wheel. These cost ££££ from a dealer- pattern parts are available. You need the codes read to confirm it before you start spending though.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

Thanks Facade. Yes, I'll carry out all the obvious checks.

most obd readers dont read codes on citreons/Peugeots very well. Ideally you need the citreon diagbox, very expensive or access to the software.1

As already mentioned, you'll need more than a basic, generic OBD reader to read modules like the SRS.
The basic OBD readers will only read generic powertrain codes and some will have trouble reading those.
If there's a warning light/code set within the SRS module, you need to fix the fault and clear the code.
Fixing alone isn't going to cause the warning light to go off.
A SRS code/warning light will stay on until cleared even though you might have fixed the fault.
It can make fixing the fault yourself a bit more difficult as you need the diagnostic tool to get the code to identify the fault, fix it, then need the diagnostic tool again to clear the code.
Your best bet is trying to find a local independent Citroen specialist or perhaps someone local on a Citroen forum might have the diagnostic tool to scan the fault, but you'll need them again to clear it after fixing.

Thanks everyone.
