Amazon third party

Options
I bought 2 larger items from what I now know is an Amazon third party seller. I didn’t want the item. Quality thin, not colour as photographed. I proceeded to return as said return for free. I got the return label and it said I had to pay for the return and Amazon assured me the seller would refund. It cos £87 to return. I paid it, provided proof. Seller only issued £16 back. “Goodwill”. After many chats with Amazon customer service all assuring me I would get money back. I can’t seem to get anywhere. Just round in circles. I’m £71 out of pocket, 3.5 weeks later Anyone any luck in contacting them other than a chat?

You could try an A-Z claim on the basis the seller said they'd refund the cost.

Not sure what way it would go but worth a shot :)

  • Thanks I keep trying that but they seem to say I was refunded- which I was for the goods but not the delivery. I think I’ve tried 2-3 times. Amazon customer service seem to just spout the same lines don’t seem to have the authority to do anything particularly helpful.

Sorry, to confirm the item cost £87 and you only received £16 back, or the postage alone cost £87 and you received the cost of the item + £16 from the postage cost back?

Think it's the bit in bold :)

Confirmed in the OP's second post:
"they seem to say I was refunded- which I was for the goods but not the delivery"
@oscarpinkcat I think a link to the item in question might be helpful (you won't be able to post a direct link but just replace one of the dots in the URL with a space and we can make the link ourselves).

Okay so now it’s clear it’s the postage you’re seeking a refund on - when you initially paid what did it say about returns? And what exactly did Amazon offer you? If Amazon said that you’d get a refund, and the seller doesn’t offer free returns (which they’re not legally obligated to do - if anything it opens them up to a lot more liability if the parcel gets lost on its return leg) then I think it’s Amazon you should be asking for the money of? If the return policy did say free returns, then I think that you should ensure you didn’t have to email for a returns slip first/read the policy and see what it says.

So how how much was postage when it was ordered?
Is this to UK or overseas?
As £87 seems a hell of a lot of postage.

    Link to item?
