I'd be tempted to send apologies & say I have plans for a belated celebration break for my own 70th earlier in the year - you can always take yourself off to Glasgow overnight 😉

I'm not going and I'm not going to offer any excuse or apology. 

Halfway through my class I gave up, too much coughing and not enough air getting to my lungs. And didn't go shopping as I decided that I really didn't need to. A morning of decisions.
