I think Tripadvisor might be a better bet as that is travel related.0

This is the link to the Milan ForumYou will need to put :-Time of yearHow long forAreas to stay in (what are you going to see and do)Budget for hotel ie do you want luxury, ecconomic or what in between. You need to work out which airlines go there and sign up for sales emails from those companies.Perhaps as you seem to need the whole lot to work out and it's not usual for you you might look at getting a fly and stay holiday where a lot is organised for you.Don't go with the cheapest, go with the most reliable ie well established and check out the hotels on offer in the TA reviews. It may take some searching as Milan isn't widely a tourist destination being more of a working town. You can ask for recommedations for restaurants or restaurant areas when you have a selection of hotels. Then view their menus online to get an idea of cost.If you do a bit of the work to start people will help to make it the trip you want and to avoid mistakes.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
viral kindness .....kindness is contageous pass it on
The only normal people you know are the ones you don’t know very well

I really enjoyed Milan, not only for the city itself but where you could visit for a day outside Milan. Verona the home of Romeo and Juliet and Venice are both easy day trips by train as is a trip to the Italian or Swiss lakes, Lake Como is barely an hour away and Lugano in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland is also easy to reach.
Milan is of course home of the fashion industry, I am more Man at M & S myself but I enjoyed window shopping, and visiting La Scala and the Duomo. On the first day, we took a 2 hour tram tour around the city which began outside the castle. The Italians tend to leave Milan in August due to the heat but if you like it, the hotels can be a little cheaper due to lack of demand0 -

Also someone said that the airport is a long way from Milan itself
How would I go about booking a airport transfer?0 -

Milan has two main airports, unless you are flying with Ryanair which thinks there are three, but Bergamo which they fly to is in an entirely different city. Milan Linate is close to the city centre, barely a 15-minute coach ride from the Central Station, it is the older of the airports but many airlines choose to fly there. The more modern airport is Malpensa which is a lot further away, requiring a train transfer of 40 minutes and the trains tend to be only once every 30 minutes. We always fly to Linate and take the metro to the hotel once we are in the city centre.1
