Octopus tariff change link - 404
Comments

You just click on "Change my tariff" from the main page (dashboard). The only one available from there is the 12 month fix. If you want a EV tariff, tracker etc. which are experimental tariffs then you sign up via their page on the Octopus website after having been through the quote process for those specific tariffs.liviboy said:Hi all,
Does anyone know if there is a new secret link to swap tariffs on Octopus?
The old ".../tariff-renewal/#/" one is now giving a 404 error.
Thanks :-)1 -
That link is missing in my and my uncle's dashboard and hasn't been there for some time.MattMattMattUK said:

The URL is just tariff-renewal/ after the web address for the dashboard, as you had before. Is he an ex-Shell customer, or on Tracker? Or does he have a non-smart meter, or a non-functioning smart meter?liviboy said:

No he is not an ex shell customer..but the current fix is cheaper than his current one and, given no exit fees, was going to swap him across.0 -
What about if he tries the old dashboard? https://octopus.energy/dashboard/?legacyliviboy said:

Otherwise give them a call on Tuesday, they have been easy to deal with on the few occasions I have had to speak to them and they are a bit slow at responding to email at the moment.0 -
New version was launched late last week, both fuels increased.liviboy said:

Online server maintainance might be on skeleton crew because it's a bank holiday.404 error - not available is something missing/link wrong on web page and not related to company policy.0

Seemingly is Octopus policy to remove change of tariff option when a customer is on a fixed rate tariff.Grizzlebeard said:Online server maintainance might be on skeleton crew because it's a bank holiday.404 error - not available is something missing/link wrong on web page and not related to company policy.

It's just a coding error on the website not a company decision to bamboozle customers with cryptic messages. These things change all the time as tariffs come and go and IT doesn't always debug promptly (especially on weekends and public holidays).
